Rara Lake Trek one of the most incredible and fascinating treks in all the Himalayan range, a cultural and scenic adventure in Far North West around Jumla and Mugu district at Rara Lake, which is largest Lake in Nepal Himalaya of 10.8 sq km (five kilometers long and two kilometers wide) at an altitude of 2,990 meter, located within pristine environment, where few western trekkers venture due to its remoteness. Protected by Rara National Park which is one of the smallest park of the country, this serene wilderness an ideal habitat for musk deer, other wildlife includes Himalayan black bear, leopard, goral, Himalayan Thar and wild boar, snow trout is the only fish species recorded in the deep serene Rara Lake Trek. If you are looking for wilderness and solitude travel, this trek is an ideal choice because of the ‘off the beaten track’ route which affords a glimpse of cultures and scenery very different from the rest of Nepal. The best time to take this trek I during summer due to low rainfall but in winter you can often witness snow on the ridge surrounding the lake and in autumn trekkers are rewarded with a profusion of alpine flowers.
