Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek
Starts at: USD 1690 per person
trip information
Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is the classical Everest Base Camp trekking route considered as the ‘purest’ and most authentic trek in the region. The trails are of historical significance as the first two people Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norway to climb Mt.Everest used this very route as their voyage. Later on, after Lukla Airport was built by Sir Edmund Hillary, this trail was somewhat deserted.
Replacing the short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla the Jiri to Everest base camp trek starts with a 7-hr long bus or jeep ride to the town of Jiri where the trek officially begins. This trek from Lukla follows the same route as the classical Everest Base camp Trek through the towns of Namche Bazar, Phadking, Tengboche, Pheriche and Gorak Shep accompanied by the breathtaking views of Everest and the surrounding peaks.
This trek is ideal for those seeking an extended stay in the Himalayan countryside and a great exposure to the lifestyle of the Sherpa’s.
