trip information

The Poonhill Trek is a great trek for the ones who only have 7 days available for trekking; who do not want a very hard trek, but yet is looking for a great and real trekking experience.

The Poonhill trek takes you through the beautiful Modi khola valley to finally reach atop Poonhill, a peak which gives paranomic views of the entire Annapurna range. At an altitude of 3210 meters the Poonhill peak lies at the centre of all the Annapurna peaks, Mt. Dhaulagiri in the North, Machhapuchhr and a valley to the South. The valley is inhabited by the ethnic groups of the Magars and Gurungs.

While heading down to Pokhara, we pass through the old village of the Gurungs – Ghandruk, a village which will give a lot of cultural inputs.

All in all, the Poonhill trek is a great little trek and has remained popular because of its relative ease, great trails and cultural inputs!
